...this "Saint Who Chose Me" story may help:
"I had been reflecting a lot on St. Mary and wanted to learn more about her, so when Fr. Dudzinski mentioned the baskets filled with different saints, I was very hopeful I would choose her. I was disappointed when I didn't see St. Mary on my slip of paper. But when I started doing some research on the saint that I DID choose, I learned that my saint, St. Louis de Montfort, had a deep devotion to St. Mary and is well known for bringing people closer to her. He was one of the earliest writers on Marian devotion. As it turns out-I did get what I hoped for, just not how I expected. Being an RCIA Catholic, I did not grow up with a familiarity of the saints, so it was very interesting to learn about a particular saint and has inspired me to learn about others."
